Metal-enriched nanoparticles and black carbon: A perspective from the Brazil railway system air pollution

چکیده
Having a better understanding of air pollutants in railway systems is crucial to ensure clean public transport. This study measured, for the first time Brazil, nanoparticles (NPs) and black carbon (BC) on two ground-level platforms inside trains Metropolitan Area Porto Alegre (MAPA). An intense sampling campaign during thirteen consecutive months was carried out chemical composition NPs examined by advanced microscopy techniques. The results showed that highest concentrations occur colder seasons influenced variables such as frequency passenger densities. Also, internal external sources pollution at stations were identified. predominance enriched with metals increase oxidative stress like Cd, Fe, Pb, Cr, Zn, Ni, V, Hg, Sn, Ba both trains, including Fe-minerals hematite magnetite, represents critical risk health passengers employees system. interdisciplinary multi-analytical aims provide an improved reported adverse effects induced system aerosols.

Pnm-9: Association between Air Pollution and Reproductive System Functions
Background The highly sensitive period of preimplantation development represents that embryo is very vulnerable to exogenous agents. Many of the developmental abnormalities may arise from the inevitable maternal periconceptional exposures to toxic substances in the environment which may threaten reproductive capability and pregnancy outcomes. In this article, an overview of the association betw...
متن کاملThe Ergative System in Balochi from a Typological Perspective
For the Western Iranian languages the transition from the Old Iranian to the Middle-Iranian period is characterised by – among other things – the loss of word-final syllables. This loss had a far-reaching impact on the nominal and verbal systems since it caused the loss of categories which had been expressed by suffixes. The consequences include the emergence of the so-called ergative system. ...
متن کاملAir pollution and the respiratory system.
Over the past 250 years-since the Industrial Revolution accelerated the process of pollutant emission, which, until then, had been limited to the domestic use of fuels (mineral and vegetal) and intermittent volcanic emissions-air pollution has been present in various scenarios. Today, approximately 50% of the people in the world live in cities and urban areas and are exposed to progressively hi...
متن کاملImpact of California’s air pollution laws on black carbon and their implications for direct radiative forcing
We examine the temporal and the spatial trends in the concentrations of black carbon (BC) e recorded by the IMPROVE monitoring network for the past 20 years e in California. Annual average BC concentrations in California have decreased by about 50% from 0.46 mg m 3 in 1989 to 0.24 m gm 3 in 2008 compared to the corresponding reductions in diesel BC emissions (also about 50%) from a peak of 0.01...
